The First Battle of Marne begins

German Kaiser Abdicates

The leader of Germany, Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicates and flees Germany, going to the Netherlands.

Armistice

Germany signs the armistice in Compiegne, France, which ends fighting on November 11th at 11 AM.
