More than 1,000 people died when the Lusitania sank among them they were128 American citizens. This angered the Americans greatly and created a doubt whether to join the war or not.

However this was all quickly resolved when Germany offered money to those injured to those on the Sussex, promised warned neutral ships and passenger ships passing, and The Sussex Pledge was in play which resolved all submarine conflict.

    The Zimmerman Note was a secret telegram that was intercepted by British agents. The note was sent from Germany heading to Mexico.
    The note indicated that Germany wanted to form an alliance with Mexico against the United States.

Men 21 to 30 were able to fight however out of the 5 million soldiers 3 million were called to serve and 2 million joined voluntarily.

    The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty was on harsh terms against the Germans stating that they would accept full responsibility for the conflict. The treaty also stated that Germans would have to pay billions of dollars to the Allies, and give up their territory in Europe.
