    This war was declared one month after the killing of the archduke and his wife. The war was the affective start of WWI. It was between two sides, one with anger, and one with pride.

    The Germans first introduced lethal gas in WWI April 22, 1915. When they dropped the gas, they dropped more than 150 tons of chlorine gases. This attack was on two French colonial divisions in Ypres, Belgium. This gas attack, killed over 5,000 soldiers within moments.

    The sinking of the Lusitania, was done less than a year after WWI by a German U-Boat. The U-Boat torpedoed the Lusitania because they thought the boat was carrying weapons. Which it was. The reason this caused such chaos was, the Lusitania had children and women on board. Over 1,100 people perished of which over 120 were American.

    The Zimmermann Note was sent to Mexico by Arthur Zimmermann. This note was incouraging Mexico to attack the Southern border of America. The note was intercepted by the British and sent to President Wilson.

    Woodrow Wilson asked congress for a declaration of war on Germany. This asking was granted on April 6th, 1917. Some of the events that led up to the war were, The Sinking of The Lusitania and the Zimmermann Note.
