Russian Army defeated at Tannenburg and Masurian Lakes
This battle was a decisive engagement between the Russian and German Empires in the first days of World War I. The battle causeed almost complete destruction of the Russian Second Army. Also a series of follow-up battles destroyed most of the First Army as well. -
Dardenelles
The Russians appealed for help from Britain and France to beat off an attack by the Turkish. The British navy responded by attacking Turkish forts in the Dardenelles. -
The Lusitania was sunk by a German U-Boat
The Lusitania set sail on the Atlantic Ocean May 1,1915, making its 202nd trip. Sailing the ocean had become dangerous since the outbreak of WWI. German U-Boats stalked the British waters, looking for enemy boats to sink. Although ships such as the Lusitania were on the look out for German U-Boats unfortunetly there luck ran out. Captain William Thomas Turner had slowed the ship down because of fog. Eventually a German U-boat spotted them and they were sadly sunken. -

Prime Minister Herbert Henry Asquith ends up resigning and Llyod George succeeds him. -

The battle ends in disaster for both the French army and it's commander Robert Nivelle. -
Austria-Hungary signs the armistice with Italy
Ended warfare betweeen Italy and Austria-Hungary on the Italian Front. It was signed November 3rd and went into effect 24 hours later on November 4. -
