    Hitler Becomes Chancellor
Germany's depression resulted in high unemployment rates and severe poverty, and eventually influenced Germany's citizens to fall into grim and difficult times. The Nazi party and their supreme leader, Hitler, used these common fears of uncertainty and instability to seize power through propaganda promising ‘bread and jobs’ for the people. The prospect of stability, employment, and a strong government widely appealed to the citizens, and allowed Hitler to become Chancellor in 1933.
