Germany invaded Poland, setting off war in Europe. The Soviet Union also invaded Poland and the Baltic Nations. Their goal was to split the allied powers armies through Blitzkrieg attack.

Germany Invaded France
Germany invaded France and captured Paris. British Prime Minister had tried to convince the Government that the U.S was coming with aid, but they didn't wait. The U.S had agreed to help them out but Government said no and that there wouldn't be enough time. When they were attacked 2 million Parisians had fled.

Battle of Britain began
Germany bombed London and the Battle began. 120 German bombers and fighters hit a British shipping convoy. Britians advantages were a really good radar system, and its aircraft. When the Battle began they were in huge need of aluminum and Government got some for them.

Lend Lease
The U.S gave Britian war supplies and old naval warships. In return Britian gave them military bases in Bermuda and the Caribbean. The Lend Lease was basically the U.S giving other countries military aid, or help in the war.

Pearl Harbor
U.S's Pearl harbor was bombed on December 7 by Japan. This bombing was the cause of the U.S going into World War 2. they wanted to get back at Japan.

The united states won battle of midway against japan. this victory was the turning point in the war in the pacific. it had been four days long. it was a sea and air battle.

Germany invaded the soviet union. the soviet union defeated Germany at Stalingrad. This marked the turning point of the war in eastern Europe.

Normandy Invasion
American and other allied troops landed in Normandy, france, on D-day to begin liberation of western Europe. They were being liberated from Nazi control. In the end 155,000 allied troops had successfully stromed normandys beaches.

The united states dropped two atomic bombs on japan. The bombs were dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. this forced japan to surrender, then this is what caused world war 2 to end.
