That happened because Canada was in a war with Japan and thought that the Japanese Canadians might be spies working with Japan, and because of that they made camps for all the Japanese Canadians to make sure they can’t contact their homeland in any way and tell them what's going to happen.

When the war did not end early, King had to reconsider his options, He asked the question on a plebiscite asking the Canadian people if they would release him from his earlier commitment. The French Canadians voted no and the American Canadians voted yes. The no vote was supported by other communities in Canada.

    It was an allied attack of German occupied part of Dieppe. The raid was planned and then canceled. It was later restarted but lacked intelligence. The raid originally was in answer to Stalin's demand for a second front. The plan was simply to take the port, hold it for a day and then pull out. It is an important battle because the raid was an experiment in landing techniques, and the British wanted to show Russia and U.S. they were willing to open Second Front in France.
