This battle took place throughout the war.The German navy had prepositioned boats and ships began to attack British ships,Canada’s tiny navy immediately became allied port from which to fight the battle of the Atlantic.This battle was signigicant for importing vital food and other supplies for its own survival,Germans wanted to cut these lines using the submarines and the boats.This is significant because the battle of the atlantic was the longest battle in the war and Canada played a major role -

That is the day that canada decided to fight germany, they joined because they are allies with britian.The battle happened in North America.This is important because Canada was under british rule and it was the first time that they declared war independently. It was significant because Canada got in the war by it's own choice not because of Britain. -

This battle was mainly in the air, this battle happened Because before Germany could launch a seaborne invasion of Britain it had to gain air superiority over the English Channel.The battle took place over Britain.This battle is important because if Britain had lost we would all be talking in german.The actual battle pretty much lasted from the occupation of Germany until D-Day. -
Japanese internment
Japanese Internment is the detainment of Japanese Canadians with the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong and Malaya and attack on Pearl Harbor. That happened because Canada was in a war with Japan and thought that the Japanese Canadians might be spies working with Japan, and because of that they made camps for all the Japanese Canadians to make sure they can’t contact their homeland in any way and tell them what's going to happen. -
Battle of Hong Kong
This battle happened for many reasons, Hong Kong was controlled by Britain. Japan engaged in war against Britain and Hong kong was a target for Japan. Canada's soldiers helped Hong Kong in this battle.The significance lay in the fact that Canada had sent the Brigades from both the East and West part of Canada whereby proving that French speaking and English speaking troops under one flag could exist. -
Conscription plebiscites
King entered the war assuring Quebec that there would be no conscription this time, and that they wouldn’t force anyone to go in the war only people who volunteer will. When the war did not end early, King had to reconsider his options, He asked the question on a plebiscite asking the Canadian people if they would release him from his earlier commitment. The French Canadians voted no and the American Canadians voted yes. The no vote was supported by other communities in Canada. -
Dieppe Raid
It was an allied attack of German occupied part of Dieppe. The raid was planned and then canceled. It was later restarted but lacked intelligence. The raid originally was in answer to Stalin's demand for a second front. The plan was simply to take the port, hold it for a day and then pull out. It is an important battle because the raid was an experiment in landing techniques, and the British wanted to show Russia and U.S. they were willing to open Second Front in France. -
Battle of Ortona
This battle happened between German troops and Canadian forces. This battle happened because Canadians were ordered to take the port of Ortona by general Montgomery. The Canadians won. During this battle soldiers did something called mouseholing, because of this battle it was called "Bloody December".
