Around 5 in the afternoon, over 1 million German troops invaded Poland. When asked, Adolf Hitler claimed they were attacking for defense, but England and France were smart and didn't believe him. This action lead to Britain and France declaring World War 2 on Germany.

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was an attck from the Japanese, against the United States. the attack took place at Pearl Harbor, in Honolulu, Hawaii. It started when hundreds of fighter planes flew in to start bombing. They destoried nearly 20 American Naval vessels, 8 battle ships, and 200 ariplanes. This attack killed 2000 American and wounded over 1000. Shortly after this attack America Join the war.

37 Douglas Bombers flew off of the ship the USS Enterprise. This attack was planned to bomb Japanese aircarriers. Japanese aught on and fought back and after a couple of minutes both ship were sinking.

Battle of Iwo Jima
United States marines divided into 3 groups and started toward Iwo Jima, which was heavily guarded by Japanese soldiers.The Japanese knowing the landscape fought in caves, dugout, tunnels, and anywhere with cove to get an advantage. 5900 American were killed and 17,400 were wounded.

Battle of Okinawa
Last and biggest battle near the Pacific islands. It involved 287,000 United States soldiers against 130,000 Japanese soldiers. By the 82nd day of this battle the Japanese had lost more than 77,000 soldiers and allied force included 65,000 casualites and 14,000 died.
