The war started in Europe becuase of Germany invading Poland. Then the Soviets invaded Polan later. After Germany invaded POland, GErmany and France delcared war on Germany. -

He served in the United States HOuse of Representatives for 51 years. He received the President Medal of Freedom and has US nuclear powered aircraft carrier named after him. He was busy with military business all the way up to his retirement. -
Brunswick Shipyard

This was used to export goods that the military needed to use during the wartime.They built 99 ships, 85 of them being "Liberty Ships". FDR announced an emergency shipbuilding, so they started to build ships here. -
Lend-Lease Program Created
Lend LeaseThis provided food and materials for the Allied Powers. This ended in September 1945. The US gave their allies military help and made sure that they could keep fighting and keep their army men alive. -

When over 6 million Jews were mass murdered by German Nazis.Many of the Holocaust survivors moved to Georgia after it was over. When this happend Georgia started to respect their minorities more.This was very emotional and people in Georgia understood it more. -

This was when the allies went to the coast of France’s Normandy region and attacked the axis. The allies won the battle. Thi was also one of the largest military assults in history. -

This was a meeting of FDR, Joseph Stalin, and Winston Churchill. At this meeting these three agreed to demand German's surrender. They also gave free electios to in Eastern Europe. Some of this was kept secret which in turn was somewhat the cause of the Cold War. -

The explosion killed 90 percent of th city. Many people died from the bomb and others later died from radiation. The Japanese did not surrender after htis, so the USA had to go with plan B. -

This was the bombing 3 days after Hiroshima. The Japanese surrenders on August 15th after they realized that they could not win the war. This bomb killed an estimated 40,000 people. -

This was when Japan surrendered, so the allies officially won the war. Japan surrendered mainly because of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Also known as vitory ove Japan day. -

This is an an intergovernmental organization that was formed to have the different nations work together. This was made to promote worl peace. There are six mainparts of this organization and they work together to form one strong power house.
