Hitler Invades Poland
When Hilter invaded Poland, France, and Great Britain declared war on Germany two days later. Then World War 2 had begun. Germany, Italy and Japan were on one side. They were called the Axis Powers. Then Britain, France and other countries were on the other side. They were called the Allies. I think that Hitler killing many people in Poland was really wrong. He was becoming a dictator but many people did not see what was going to happen next in Europe. -
Hilter gains control of western Europe
Hitler wanted to gain control of everyone. He wanted to go against everyone that was in his path. Many countries did not want to go into war. Unfortunatly, Hitler declared war on most of them. Before they knew it, Germany was conquering them all. It was a very depressing time when many people died. I found Hitler abusing the beautiful county and world he had. It is very selffish of him to take over Europe and destroy beautiful countries. Everything was ruined by the time the war was done. -
Germany Invades Soviet Union
The Soveit Union was on Germany's side until Germany tried to invade them. Hitler tried to invade the Soviet Union, but failed. The German were good at dropping bombs from planes. The Soviet found that out then made a plan. They came close to the German when fighting so they couldn't drop bombs on them. The plan worked and the Soviet Union won. For the first time in war the Germans had to retreat back to Germany. I think it was very wrong to invade a country that trusted you. He betrayed them. -
Japan Attacks Pearl Harbor
Japan launched a suprise air attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The bombing killed more than 2,300 American solders and sank or damaged U.S. tanks. The result of the bombing was America declaring war on Japan. Three days later Germany and Italy both declared war on America. What the Japanse did was very wrong. They should have tried to talk to us first, but instead they killed many poor innocent people. -
The Allies Invade Europe on D-Day
They came together and invaded their enemies. By Sebtember, they were at the border line of Germany. They conquered Germany from the east so the Nazis' fell apart. On April 30 Hitler killed himself, then a week later, Germany surrendered. I think that it is good that Germany surrendered. When Germany surrendered the war was coming close to an end and soon the killing would be done. Then Germany couldn't hurt anyone anymore. -
The U.S. Drops the Atomic Bomb on Japan
The fighting kept on going with Japan and the Allies. Finally, the most powerful weopon ever created at the time was dropped in Japan. It was called the Atomic Bomb. The U.S. dropped it in a city callled Hiroshima. In seconds, tons of people were dying . It was horrible. The Japanese would not surrender, so the U.S. dropped another Atomic Bomb on them. It killed about 200,000 people and many were hurt. Then Japan surrendered. I think it was horrible that so many people died.
