    Hitler Invades Poland
    On September 1st, 1939, Hitler and the Nazi's started their invasion of Poland. This action only took 2 weeks. The invansaion was done by using 2,000 tanks and 1,000 planes. This is important because it was one of the main things that caused World War 2.

    On the twenty-second of June, 1941, the Soviet Union was invaded by German forces lead by Hitler. This was a surprise, along with Poland being invaded, because of the truce and Treaty of Versailles. This invasion was important because it was also a main thing that lead into World War Two. It was also a very quick fight, commonly called a blitzkrieg.

    The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in the Hawaiian Islands on December 7th, 1941. This was important because it is what pratically made the United States involved in the World War 2. It destroyed the Naval Fleet and killed many innocent people.

    This was the first of two bombings. Almost as revenge, the Americans bombed Japan's biggest city (at the time,) Hiroshima. The United States used a B-29 Bomber. The explosion killed a mass amount of people, and thousands died later due to radiation. This was an event that was extremely important because it was the fight back from the United States, against the Japanese. The Japanese decided to wait and continue fighting, although this first bombing occured.

    This was the second bombing on Japan, following the Hiroshima attack. This second bombing took place because the Americans felt the need to bomb a second time on a larger city. They felt the need to do this because the Japanese refused to surrender. The bombing of Nagasaki is important because it was the final event and action that set the Japanese government, emporer, and military off to decide they were done with the war.

    The Japanese Surrender
    On August 15th, 1945, a few days after the two bombings, the Japanese emporer Hirohito annoucned the official, unconditional surrender in World War 2. He mentioned the upsetting power of "a new and most cruel bomb." This event is very important because it shows that the Japanese couldn't necesarily handle any more loss of people, land, and power. It was a semi-major event in World War 2's history.
