The goal was to move Japanese heritage out of the western part of the United States. The Japanese were sent into Interment Camps. Two thirds of the ten thousand affected were Americans. -

Sick and starving soldiers marchedduring this time. It happened for 5 days and 5 nights. The soldiers who dropped out of line were beaten, shot, or left for dead. -
D-Day
The Allies wanted to launch a large invasion of Mainland Europe. Omar Bradley was the guy who lead the American troops. The Troops invaded the Beaches of Normandy. 6,600 Americans died on D-Day. -
Auschwitz Liberation
Auschwitz was the largest camp established by the Germans. thousands of soldiers were killed in this camp. Auschwitz was located 37 miles west of Krakow. It took place in mid-Janurary 1945. -
Raising the flag on Mount Suribachi
The flag was raised on top of Mount Suribachi during the battle of Iwo Jima. Mount Suribachi was the highest point on the island of Iwo Jima. By the evening of the rising of the flag 550 marines were dead and more than 1,800 were injured. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
The Bombing of Hiroshima was a final stage for the U.S. in world War 2 in 1945. It took place in the city of Hiroshima, Japan. The Japanese Government ignored the Potsdam Decleration so the U.S. dropped the Little Boy on Hiroshima.
