    On May 20th, 1910, European royal family, who ruled most of Europe's countries, were brought for one big gathering for the death of King Edward VII. These families had tension between each other because countries had alliances with certain people and some had disputes that were not settled.

    (US) President Woodrow Wilson Inaugrated
    President Woodrow Wilson, who would have seve as a commander in chief during World War I, officially becomes president for the first two terms.

    (EU) Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand Shot in Sarajevo
    On this day, the Arch Duke of Austria-Hungary was shot by Gavrilo Princip. This event often considered the spark of World War 1, which would grow because of entangling alliances.

    On a day of 1914, Germany declares war on France. The idea was strategized by Germany's by military chief Schlieffen. This erupted because of the assassination of Ferdinand. Their plan is to invade France and Belgium.

    Britain wanted to attack their enemy, Germany. Britain bombed Germany multiple times, including their naval transportation.
    Other reasons was Kaiser and his desire to go to war. Other were the alliance. But this day was when all of the past events encouraged the final decision to battle it out.

    The truce took place on Christmas Eve, when the German soldiers and the British soldiers sang carol to each other and shares gifts to wish each other good luck. Later both groups grew closer.

    The sinking of the Lusitania was when the ship had sunken after being shot by a torpedo missile. This attack was made by the Germans, who also in the same period of the time used u-boats to attack American and British ships. It killed over a thousand people- about one-tenth being Americans.

    Wilson made troops to chase Pancho. Pancho had crossed into America and Southern civilians. At this time, America did not have strong militarism. Pancho later escaped his punishment from being in military. In 1923, Pancho finally was murdered. Later, militarism had changed.

    This was one of the most violent battles during the period, which led to many deaths from different countries participating. It was France and Britain who were going against Germany. Both countries against Germany attack from different sides. France was able to take land and weaken the German army.

    The British use the first tanks ever in battle during WWI. Little Willie was the name of the first tank used in the battle of the Somme. That tank and plenty of the first tanks were not as efficient as they are today. They were very slow and noisy, but they were still an advantage when in battle. During the battle of the Somme, the Little Willie kept getting stuck in trenches and was very large.

    Wilson won president. He was democratic. One of the reasons he could have won was because of the public belief that he was able to keep out of war and make sure that American rights were secure. His was running against Charles Hughes. The amount of voters for Wilson were slightly more drastic than that of Hughes. He was re-elected.

    Wilson couldn't demand war, so he asks the Congress, who makes the decision of declaring war. The Lusitania influenced his decision. He believed in the participation of war for defense, protection, and the free right to dominate America's voice.

    After Wilson wanted America to go to war, the wish was finally fulfilled. Besides the Lusitania, Germany had used U-boats to break the small relationship with Germany. This also led to the declaration of war. Other things that led America's Congress to want to participate in war was economic issues, fear, and the relations with other countries. Also, the Zimmerman Telegraph.

    The purpose of the act was to get people to join U.S troops for war. This also gave Wilson the right to determine who and who didn't join. This was a part of the U.S's mobilization. Men by the age of 18 and up to join.

    Central powers and Russia were able to end their odds on this day. The Central Powers wanted land based off of this treaty, and at first it wasn't an agreement. However, because Russia was already becoming a weak country due to their choice to alliance, they had no choice but to allow the treaty, along with it's wants, to go into establishment. Germany was able to have Poland and Baltic territories.

    To make themselves appear stronger, Russia begins to mobilize and joining forces with France against the Central Powers. Russia had five million soldiers. One con of Russia's mobilization was transportation. A significant reason why Russia was able to take on Germany was because of financial support from France.

    On this day, Marshal Foch signed the message to end all hostilities. At this time, Germany was by itself because all its allies were defeated, giving the country no choice but to surrender. Soldier fell into a negative psychological state. The German government was changed.
