Per-War Militarism
From 1910 to 1914 the defenses of many countries increased. France had the smallest increase out of all of them which was ten percent, Britain with thirteen percent. Then there was Russia and Germany, they were the bigger powers. Russia military increased by thirty nine percent and then there was Germany, they had increased a whopping seventy three percent. Other countries surrounding Germany felt small or threatened by the large increase of their military. -
Imperialism
Britain, Germany, and France all needed a foreign market after the Industrial Revolution they looked at Africa. Both Britain and France had made up with Africa, there had been many instances of foreshadowing the war with Germany fighting Britain and France with in North Africa. During that war most of Africa was “owned” by Britain and France. And all German owned parts of Africa had been taken over by the British or the French. -
The Assassination of Austrian Archduke
The Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife Duchess Sophie had taken a trip over to Sarajevo, Bosnia. They were participating in a parade in Bosnia. Then some men apart of the Serbian nationalist group (Black Hand) shot and killed both him and his wife. The group believed that Bosnia should belong to Serbia. Nationalist can be a scary thing, people will go to extreme lengths to get what they think their country should get and/or have. -

Stalemate and Its Outcome
Stalemate is when both sides of the war can’t make a move to win the war. Stalemate was occurring do to the Machine gun, they tried to overcome this with trench Warfare. All it did was create more stalemate and both sides continued to not gain any ground. The trenches also created unpredictable fighting and scarce battles.
