Archduke Assasination
The Archdukes death started the war it was like the icing on the cake after that the war was a done deal. I geuss you could say he is a big deal. The Archduke was assassinated during a parade. -
Winning War at Sea
Alright so not all of the war was fought on land war has to do with everything, so after losing heavy losses the Admiral William S Sims decided to have ships be escorted with convoys. This move helped greatly and stopped the heavy losses. I dont know when this happened however so i will put it at the start of the war. -

Russia moves troops
Russia moved there troop this move made everyone jump, and made everyone get ready for what was coming. Russia saw the future and realized they need to get out ahead. -
Germany invades
Germany invaded Belgium Hitler said the word "Danzig" sending his forces into Beligum. Beligium lost hold eventually. This really made the surrounding area go crazy. -
Trench Warfare
This is when trench warfare was first used, because the military would put powerful altillery behind the lines, the tenches were used for people to protect themselves from altillery. -
Posion Gas
Posion gas causes vomiting, blindness, and suffication. The allies had to also use gas to counter the gas attacks i mean might as well fight fire with fire. This caused both sides to use gas masks. -
New Technology
The germans first offically used posion gas, In the later 1915's the british used the first armored tank the tanks were terrible though. Also keep in mind this is the first war that machine guns were used in a war. -
US enters War
The USA entered the war on this date, and joined the allies. The United States is the smartest for waiting then joining the winning side. -
Germany and Russia peace agreement
Germans signed a peace treaty with Russia allowing them to focus on the attacks coming from the western front. This helped Germany from having to worry about Russia. -
Inducted to the Army
This is when Corporal Vincent was inducted into the United States MIliatry joining the United States ARMY. -
Black Berries
Vincent and his fellow solidgers would eat blackberries because the blackberries were in the woods where they were stationed. -
Gas problems
Vincent would take stand twice a day, during each night they had gas guards (gas masks) because they used gas in area they were in. -
Gas round 2
Vincent, and other soildgers were so used to people yelling "GAS!!" that they started to pay no attention to it, and some gas would be thrown toward the wood where the troops were at. -
Artillery
Vincent describes the Artillery where the Americans were shooting as destruction, and that the left holes fifteen to twenty five feet in depth. Artillery was dangerous because of the impact and shrapnel. -
Vincents Friend
Vincent recalls one of his Injured friend being taken by the germans and was really injured, and th germans were trying to take him on a stretcher and he rolled off and crawled back to the front line. -
American Heroes
Alvin York killed 9-25 germans, rushed the machine guns capturing the German Genral and forcing him to surrender his 132 prisoners Alvin recieved the medal of honor. -
Armistice day
On November 11th at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month is when the war was ended. -
Treaty of Versailles
This is when the Treaty of Versailes was signed, the Germans were palyed for the war, and was stated to be caused by the "aggression of germany".
