Russia lost about 100,000 men, and Germany lost 20,000. This battle led to Russia forces to completely fall on the eastern front. -

Germany invades France, which causes the leader of Britain and Frances army to attack back. The Germans end up retreating which led to the loss of Germany. About 500,000 men combined died between these two armies. With this battle it led to trench warfare on the western front of Germany. -

Germany used poison gas to target French and Canadian troops. We don't know who won but Germany made some advancements. Around 100,000 people died. The use of Germanys gas made warfare scarier. -

The Allied powers fought the Ottoman empire. This led to the victory of the Ottoman Empire. About 250,000 people died combined. The loss of the Allies boosted the Ottoman morale. -

Germany tried to capture the fort of Verdun. But Germany was not able to break through Frances's defense. Which lead to the victory of France. Around 700,000 men died. The battle drained both Central and Allied armies.
