First battle of Marne
This Battle was very important and historic. It was the first use of radio intercepts and automotive transport of troops in wartime. After commander in chief Joseph Joffre ordered an offensive attack attack in September 1914. The French's troops managed to create a gap in between it' first and second army. Creating an advantage for the french the Germans start to retreat September 10. -

This was a big battle as in this point in time America's Congress had just declared war on Germany, also adding Austria-Hungary into the picture. In this battle America and it's Allies had 127,000 backed with 67,000 troops to work with. Giving the Allied Powers a huge advantage. Battle of Balleau Woods
The German's were on a move Advancing and fighting their way 45 miles of Paris. General John J Pershing Managed to put them to a halt and ordered a counter offensive against the Germans. U.S marines under James Harbord led the attack. On this day there were already 1,000 deaths. The U.S pushed back with heavy artillery gaining a hard earned victory, but a sad loss of 10,000 soldiers. -
Letter to Old Folks
In this letter my War veteran James Edwin Hoskins is sending a letter to everyone back home James didn't fight although he was drafted not to long after his brother was drafted, James is currently stationed in little bedrock waiting to be deployed but he never gets deployed. and he talks about how much he worked with the red cross and how much they did for the soldiers in WW1. he talked about how cheap eating and sleeping in cities was cheaper as a soldier because of all the discounts. -
Interview
James and his relative read out all his of the letters hes ever received and sent to his family members bringing back memories of being a soldiers, there was a blanket his mother made him because he didn't like the tilts they had to sleep on. I also learned that he was discharged when the war was over. -
Armistice Day
The Treaty of Versailles was signed on July 28, 1919 marking the official end of WW1. Veterans day is supposed to commemorate with thanksgiving, praying, and peace. by May 13, November 11 was an official Holiday.
