Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo. His death sparked World War 1. He was an Archduke of Austria-Estes, Austro-Hungary, and royal prince of Hungary and Bohemia. From 1896 till he was assassinated. -

Russia Mobilizes
Russia mobilized its best army against Austria-Hungary. The move had caused a chain reaction. That ends up leading to the mobilization of the rest of the European Great Powers. There were 5 million soldiers that went to battle. There were 4000,000 men that went with out any army. -
Lusitania Sinks
The German submarine torpedoed and sank with the passenger liner Lusitania. Their were 1,198 passengers and crew members were on board. Their were more then 120 of them were Americans. The Lusitania sank it was a big role in truing public opinion. -
Germany limits submarines
This was reacting to the sinking of the Lusitania. Kaiser end's up spending unrestricted submarine welfare. It was an attempt to keep the Untied States out of the war. It ends up hampering Germany. In the effort to stop American supplies to France and Britain. It decelerated the area around the Britain isles an war zone. The submarine warfare had angered many naval leaders. The government in Germany had agreed to put restrictions on the submarines. -
First Tanks
The British had employed the first tanks ever used in WW1. They were useful to break through barbed wire. They were also used for clearing paths. Tanks are still primitive and failed to be decisive weapon. -
Zimmerman Telegram
The British intelligence had gave Wilson Zimmerman Telegram
a message. Arthur Zimmerman had proposed that mexico side with Germany. Germany promised in return if Mexico sided with them, they would give Mexico back their lost provinces. -
Wilson for war
Wilson had asked congress to send U.S. troops to battle against Germany. Wilson outlined his case for war to the congress. After four days congress declared war against Germany. Wilson had went on to led the largest war-mobilization. -
The U.S. enters war
The U.S. had Joined its allies Britain, France, and Russia. They joined under the common of general John J. Pershing. their were over 2 million U.S. soldiers that fought on the Battlefield in France. There were many American's against going into war. -
The Battle of Belleau Wood
The battle had began when the U.S. marine's attacked Germany on a open field. They would be proved to be the most ferocious battle. Over 100,000 marines died in the battle against Germany. -
Wilhelm Abdicates
He was German Emperor and King of Prussia from November 28 till exile. He was the most recognizable public figure in WW1 and was verbal outburst. Wilhelm was born in Potsdam. He was the Queens first born grandchild. He spent the rest of his life in the Netherlands after he was forced to abdicate. He was controlled by hid generals.
