  • The assassination of Archduke franz ferdinand

    June 28 1914, Archduke was assassinated by Gavrilo princip. The heir to the Austro-hungarian.This led germany attacking Belgium and france ,August 1914.

  • The sinking of the Lusitania

    German u-boats or submarines sunk ships between england and and america. May 7,1915,German u-boat sank Lusitania, a british passanger ship sailing of coast land of ireland. More than 100 americans were dead. German warned americans newspapers to stay off war zone. German also said the Lusitania had been carrying war supplies.

    Fought from 21 february to 18 december 1916. Longest battle in world war 1 fought on the western front between the german and french armies.It was between german and french. Where german pressured french before the war. Verdun was heavily defended during the battle of verdun.

  • Battle of the somme

    Fought on july 1 and november 1,1916.Near the river of somme river in france at the time. There was a war between british and france after germans. They said it was the bloodiest battle in world war 1 of history. First day, British suffered more than 57,000 causualties. By the end of the war the campaign the allies and central powers would lose 1.5 million.
