    Medieval Era (beginning)

    Medieval Era (beginning)
I chose a king Chess piece symbol because Chess is heavily centered around royalty, and so was the Medieval era. I think it really symbolizes the royal hierarchies presented in the Medieval era.

  • Enlightenment Era (beginning)

    Enlightenment Era (beginning)
I chose a lotus as the symbol for the Enlightenment Era because the lotus rises from dirty, murky water, and forms into a beautiful flower. This represents how the Enlightenment era is shown as a lotus because the Enlightenment era rose from inequality (social ranks) into equality and liberty.

  • Romantic period (beginning)

    Romantic period (beginning)
I chose a heart for the symbol because a lot of the thinking in he Romantic era was with their heart instead of their head like the Enlightenment Era. I also chose a heart because the name reminds me of romance, and romance is often symbolized with a heart.

  • Victorian Era (beginning)

    Victorian Era (beginning)
I chose a rose for the symbol of the Victorian era because the victorian era is still formed around thinking with your heart and giving into romance, but it acts more in a mature way. The rose is a way to express love, but in a mature way as well. Along with this, there are many roses and rose pendants/jewely in the Victorian era.

  • Modernism (beginning)

    Modernism (beginning)
I chose an abstract flower to represent this era because it's growing and blooming just like the other eras, just in its own way. I also chose this because a majority of the art in this era is considered abstract!

    Post-Modernism (beginning)
This era has the same meaning and symbol as regular modernism, I chose to keep it the same because the two eras are extremely similar.
