U.S. Moon Landing (Apollo 11)
the first spaceflight that landed humans on the Moon. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed. Armstrong became the first to step onto the lunar surface six hours later Aldrin joined him about 20 minutes later. They spent about two and a quarter hours together outside the spacecraft. The third member of the mission, Michael Collins, piloted the command spacecraft in lunar orbit until Armstrong and Aldrin returned just a day later for the trip back to Earth. -
