The Black Death was significant because of the amount of death it had affected European medieval society. The amount of death made more food for the lower population for a short period of time.

The Hundred Years' War is sigincant because it laid an enormous mount of waste that caused great suffering. France and Englad both avoid the revival of struggle, that both side had to squandered their mainpower and their profit uttlery.

This is significant because Infantry performed a dominant role in Western warfare of the fifth through eleventh centuries. They used spears, swords, axs, and the bow and arrow.

This is significant because the poem's imaginative vision of the afterlife is representative of the medieval worldview as it existed in the Western Church by the 14th century. It also helped establish the Tuscan language, in which it is written, as the standardized Italian language.
