  • 100,000 BCE

    Stone Age

    The Stone Age was also called the Paleolithic period. This is how humans started as a form of life. (Known of Evidence) It started roughly 2.5 million BCE and went through 2,200 BCE. It is called the Stone Age because around this time, humans were gathering tools which were made from stone which later became used for building.
  • 10,000 BCE

    Paleolithic Age

    The Paleolithic age was known as the "old stone age." During this time, humans created fire, which was live-altering. Gender roles weren't popular; men and women hunted for small game using stone tools and weapons. This time, it had a small society with roughly 10-50 thousand people.
  • Period: 4494 BCE to 1900 BCE

    Sumerians

    Sumerians were members of the indigenous non-Semitic people of ancient Babylonia. They developed the first city-states. They improved technology during their time period of 4,500 BCE through 1,900 BCE.
  • 3150 BCE

    Early Dynastic Period

    This was a period of time in Egypt that was during 3150- 2613 BCE. Before this time, Egypt was split into two parts; a northern and southern. Souther was considered the upper part and northern was considered the lower. During the early dynastic period, upper and lower Egypt decided to combine as one country under a way of government.

    Pyramid of Giza

    Created by King Khufu. At this time considered the Old Kingdom, this was one of the greatest things that ever stood and is still remarkable today how it stands. It served as the tomb of pharaoh Khufu who ruled the land. It stands roughly 455 feet tall and was made from rocks like granite, limestone, and mortar.

    Ancient India

    Indus civilization lasted from about 2600 to 1900 BCE. It included cities such as Harappa, Ganweriwal, and Mohenjo-daro in modern-day Pakistan, and Dholavira, Kalibangan, Rakhigarhi, and Lothal in modern-day India. (History World Encyclopedia). This is when major development in cities started to form as shown with all the cities listed. Art, culture, technology, and humans were all developing during this time at a rapid rate.
  • Period: 2334 BCE to 2154 BCE

    Akkadians

    Akkadians were a group of people right around the time 2334-2154 BCE. They were the true first empire in the world. At this time, they ruled most of Mesopotamia. They communicated by writing on stone letters. Their language is one of the oldest symbolic writing scripts
  • 2200 BCE

    Neolithic Age

    This was another age during the Stone age. This time period was known as the New Stone Age. It was between 10,000 BCE and 2,200 BCE. During this time, animal domestication of wolves started. Humans started building cities as society grew. The first forms of religion started and became popular amongst many. War also began with conflicts but trade between people did also start and was highly impactful during this period.
  • Period: 2024 BCE to 611 BCE

    Assyrians

    The Assyrians were a group out in Western Asia what is today known as Iraq. They were during the time period of 2025-612 BCE. They spoke Aramaic which is one of the oldest written and spoken languages across the world. They had sumerian rulers rather than independent states around this time. The presence of these people is assured by their god Ashur.
  • Period: 1883 BCE to 538 BCE

    Babylonians

    The Babylonians was a group of people during 1894-539 BCE. The oldest known form of script that can be deciphered was founded from this time and its called the Code of Hammurabi. There is 282 different laws that is engraved on the stone. It was just a large list of rules that everyone must follow and if broken, harsh things were done to them.
  • 1750 BCE

    Shang Dynasty

    This was the first major rulers of China. This time period was around 1750- 1045 BC. At this time rather than using stone tools, humans were using tools made from bronze which was accessible by digging a little bit under ground. This showed the improvement in technology over the years. The invention of writing was official around this time as well. There was warfare between nearby groups which was also used with the bronze tools and chariots pulled by horses.
  • 1700 BCE

    Code of Hammurabi

    One of the oldest books of laws around the world. It consisted of 282 different laws of the Babylonian people. Reading these rules is gruesome if one does not follow them. Breakers of rules may get parts of the body cut off, loose property, and more.
  • 1600 BCE

    The New Kingdom

    The new kingdom was known as the Egyptian empire. The kingdom was ruled by warrior pharohs. This time was specifically known for the insane architecture in rocks along with the many statures and carving found later. The kingdom ended when rulers had so much power over everyone that they decided to split into different areas to rule.
  • 1046 BCE

    Zhou Dynasty

    Rules from 1046-256 BCE. This was the longest dynasty in Chinese history that is known. The use of new tools, use of animals were all introduced the the people of China. Irragtion of water used for crops became very common in cities of people during this long period. The dynasty slowly fell apart after hundred of years due to the people gaining too much power over the rulers.
  • 776 BCE

    1st Olympics in Greece

    The first known Olympics were held in the summer of 776 B.C. at Olympia, a site in southern Greece where people went to worship their gods. In fact, the Olympics were created in honor of ancient Greece's most famous god: Zeus, king of the gods(National Geographic). The marine event was a foot race which was a 600 foot long trail. The Olympics at this time were actually every 4 years in honor of the god Zeus.
  • 551 BCE

    Confucius

    This was a Chinese philospoher during 551- 479 BCE. He was the first teacher in China to mass teach education.He made a big name for himself as he created ethnic, moral, and social standards for the peop,e he taught which is known as Confucianism. These quotes; "He who learns but does not think is lost! He who thinks but does not learn is in great danger."(ThoughtCo). really showed the importance of his education beliefs
  • 495 BCE

    Daoism

    Daoism is the combination of magic and science. This word is a reference to the classic symbol most people know as Ying and Yang. The black and white mixed symbol. The white can show the goodness in people and the black can show the darkness in people. Morally, it's basically saying that no one is perfect. It's a religious piece in harmony with the Tao.
  • 280 BCE

    Legalism

    A philosophical belief that human beings are more inclined to do wrong than right because they are motivated entirely by self-interest and require strict laws to control their impulses. It was developed by the philosopher Han Feizi (280 - 233 BCE) of the state of Qin(Worldhistory.Com). During this time, people followed strict laws which if broken led to harsh punishments like the 282 codes. Humans during this time were seen as pretty selfish in what they owned regarding land, money, and slaves.
  • 221 BCE

    Qin Dynasty

    The First Emperor of China is Qin Shihuangdi and he takes power in 221 BCE. It is important to know that he was the first emperor of this country and that he was the one who made China fully unified together. During this time, basic boundaries of the country were put into place. The grand canal was built in the Sui Dynasty shortly after this dynasty fails. In 207 BCE, Qin's son was killed and that's when the dynasty just fell through the roof and ended.
  • 210 BCE

    Terracotta Army

    It is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang. The reason for building these was to signify the protection of Huang's life after he died. Someone set all the statues ablaze and no ones know who it was but historians have some theories. In this statue army, there were 9000 soldiers, 130 chariots, 520 horses, and 150 calvary protecting Huang's afterlife soul.
