Competition between nations for superiority, mostly between the US and Soviet Union during the Cold War. It was important because it was the struggle for control over conquered areas of Eastern Europe. -

A meeting of British prime minister, soviet premier, and president Franklin D. Roosevelt. They all agreed to require Germany's unconditional surrender and to set up in conjured nations to be run by three countries. Important because it brought three big Allied leaders together. -

The cold war was started for a struggle of dominance between the capitalists and the communists. They could never get along. so war started and it just kept getting worse. -

believed if one country fell under communism that its neighboring states would learn from them and soon follow their path. -

USA would eventually provide military and economic aid to those countries that were threatened or harmed by Communism. This helped those that were threatened to get back on their feet and also shows that the USA cares. -

American initative to Aid western Europe. The Marshall Plan reduced the influence and power of Communist parties in Western Europe. -

A military operation that brought food and other life necessity's to west Berlin. This helped the people to survive and get the things they need to be healthy and fight. -

First major international crises of the Cold war. Blocked the Western Allies railroads, and canal access. Cutting off access for transportation of good and people. -
Korean War
War between north Korea and south Korea, began when North Korea invaded South Korea. Was first armed conflict in the Cold war. -

Stalin was the former general secretary of the Central committee of the communist party of the Soviet Union. he dies of Cerebral Hemorrhage. led to temporary thaw in the tensions of Cold war. -
Vietnam War
The vit government and congress were arguing to reunify Vietnam, this caused conflict. This was was long and costly, started during the ongoing cold war. -

Competition between two cold war rivals for dominance. Helped develop technology now days. -

US u-2 spy plane was shot down while in soviet airspace.Concluded to a meeting between president and soviet leader. -

President Kennedy gave orders for bay of pigs invasion. Invade Cuba and lead revolt against Castro. -
INF treaty
The intermediate-range Nuclear forces Treaty, treaty between America and Union of Soviet socialist republics. Required the states and soviet union to eliminate all of their nuclear weapons. Reduced nuclear weapons during the Cold war. -
German Re-unification
When the German democratic republic became apart of the federal republic of Germany so that the nation of Germany can be reunited. -
U.S.S.R breakup
This is when the 15 that were made up of the U.S.S.R broke up into 15 different republics. Some proclaimed independence. This created multiple republics to separate and become their own independent. -
Cold war ends
The cold war ends when Mikhali assumes power in the soviet union and the President George Bush met declaring the end to the Cold war. This stops all the violence that was happening during the Cold war. -
Military cutbacks
there were cutbacks in the military that took place during the cold war. They withdrew missiles from Eastern Europe and withdrew soviet troops from Afghanistan.there were also cutbacks after the cold war, i couldnt find a date for the cutbacks during the war.
