John Locke
John Locke was a British philosopher that was born in 1632 and died in 1704. He had a lot of achevments in his lifetime. He wrote The Second Treatise of Government and is what he's famous for. He also wrote An Essay Concerning Human Understanding which was one of his biggest achevments. -

The Enlightenment period refers to the European culture of the 18th century. The People of Enlightenment believed the almightiness of human the knowledge. They also defied the tradition and the already established thoughts of the past.

John Gay
John Gay was an English philosopher. He wrote "Dissertation concerning the Fundamental Principle of Virtue or Morality" .
He was born in 1685 and died in 1732. He published a poem called "Rural Sports," in 1713. Him and Alexander Pope were great friends. He also wrote plays because of his found love for music.. -
Voltaire
Voltaire was a French Enlightenment writer, historian and philosopher. Voltaire was famous for his attacks on the Catholic Church. He wrote more than 20,000 letters and more than 2,000 books. Voltaire thought that each race had separate origins, so he discarded the Adam and Eve story. -
A Vindication of the Rights of Woman
Written by the 18th-century British feminist Mary Wollstonecraft, One of the earliest works of feminist philosophy. And it was part of the Enlightenment. -
