A worker came out and said that he felt he was in a "prison and from the heat" the manager just replied that "If you want to complain you can, but there will be consequences. If you want to stay in Qatar, keep quiet and keep working" and so the nightmare job continued (Gibson, 2016). -
2015 Preview of the condition
The Building and Wood Workers International filed a complaint against FIFA complaining that it was clear that the level of construction for the 2022 FIFA World Cup would increase the number of migrant workers in Qatar and increase human rights violations in discrimination, wages, conditions, injuries, freedoms and deaths (Schwab, n.d.). -
2015 Change of season
It was decided to move the tournament to December and November instead of summer due to the extreme temperatures in Qatar and this caused other tournaments to move their dates (Moñino, 2022). -

According to Schwab, (n.d.) the UN called on "relevant entities involved in the realization of mega sporting events to respect applicable laws and international principles, including the (UNGP) 'Protect, Respect and Remedy' Framework". -
2021 Investigation about deaths
Amnesty International accused Qatar of not investigating the deaths of its workers, which according to the Guardian numbered 6,500 deaths in the construction of the stadiums (Moñino, 2022). -
2022 Distances and rights
According to Moñino (2022), the eight stadiums are 50 km apart. Public displays of same-gender love are penalized. You cannot have sex without being married. Natives treat foreigners badly.
