Religious freedom, self-interest, and riches brought many caused many people to move to the new world (America). Spain ruled an empire that was based on the labor and exploitation of the natives (Indians). Other countries become interested in the idea of colonizing the new world. Many people begin travelling and moving to the Americas because there was lots of unpopulated land. -

Jamestown becomes an Englsih colony
King James sent more than 100 settlers and 3 ships to found a colony in North America. Jamestown became England's first permanent settlement in North America. Supplied England with its high demand for tobacco making it a very profitable crop. Many people moved to this settlement after it was established. -
Great London Fire
84 churches were burned down along with 44 government buildings and 12,300 houses. Houses easily caught fire because of their closeness and being made out of wood with only narrow streets separating the houses. The fire devastated 373 acres of London and left 1/6 of the population of London homeless. It caused havoc in one Europe's most important and largest cities. -

France Loses American Territory
There was a slave rebellion on Saint Domingue that was able to overthrow the French overseers. Saint Domingue was where France's planation was located. Slaves worked these plantations and were ruled by French overseers. France lost this plantation and wanted to cut it’s connection to America. Caused Napoleon to want to sell the Louisiana Territory. -
Napoleon Sells the Louisiana Territory
Napoleon sold the Louisiana Territory to the U.S which was a huge amount of land added to the U.S's territory. He did this to empower Britain's enemy, the U.S., therefore weakening Britain.He also gained wealth from the purchase. This forever assured the power of the United States and made her more powerful than Great Britain. -
The Penisular War
Napoleon sent troops through Spain to get to Portugal to enforce the Continental System. To get to Portugal, Napoleon invaded Spain aswell. The Battle of Waterloo was Napoleons last battle against the British. He lost to the British due to a lack of communication with his troops. This major lose resulted in Napoleons exile to the island of St. Helena. Alowed the rest of Europe to create laws that made all countries equal. This battle was Napoleons last hope for power. -
American Civil War Ends
Unified Americas north and south, reuniting the world's most infuntial and economically powerful countries. Other countries didn't get too involved but were going to pick sides, whether they wanted to fund the Union or Confederate troops. If they could, people would move to the side they believed was right.
