    1840 Married Women Property Act
    What? : protected womens property from their husband and their husbands creditors.
    Significance: If women got married and owned alot of land,the husband couldnt just leave or divorce them, then just get the land.
    why:women needed their land protected
  • Birth Control

    Birth Control
    why: doctors only perscribed them for severe mentsral distress.
    Significance: any woman now has acess to birth control. People thought of the pill as immoral and that it promoted prostitution and abortion.
  • Equal Employment Rights

    Equal Employment Rights
    why: Women could be rejected from a job because of their gender
    Significance: Created an equal right on working places, provided equal emplyment rights for women.
  • Education Ammendment of 1972

    why: equal education for women and men
    Significane: women were now able to gain the same education level as men. A school couldnt deny a person beacause of their gender.
  • Equal Credit Oppertunity Act

    Equal Credit Oppertunity Act
    why: women coud be refused to get a credit card and their husbamds had to sign for it.
    Significance: it made them unable to refuse a creditcard to a woman because of her gender.
  • 1919 Voting Rights

    1919 Voting Rights
    Why: It gave women the right to vote and be equal in polotical status
    Significance: women could have a say in the political side of things and could vote. They were equal to men then too.
