    Main Leaders: Gloria Steinem
    Gloria was born in 1934. She and other women founded the Ms. Magazine in 1974, and proceeded to become a prominent figure in the civil rights movement. She started voicing her opinion in New York Magazine. In her articles, she talks about the topics such as domestic violence, feminism, equality, and abortion.     The Equal Pay Act
    The Equal Pay Act mandates equal pay for equal work. It forbids employers from paying men higher wages than women for the same job that requires the same skill level and responsibility.     Civil Rights Act of 1964
    Civil Rights Act of 1964 banned discrimination due to race,
    religion, national origin, and gender. This act also created the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to administer discrimination

    The Higher Education Act banned gender discrimination in

    Major Accomplishments
    The major accomplishments of women during this time period would be education, wage, and social standing. The movement transformed women's conventional roles and their views towards career and family. The creation of NOW and the ERA greatly contributed to this.
