As women talked about the disscrimination they began to realize they were not just experiencing individual disscrimination but a disscrimination of gender. What was Ironic is that the civil rights movement whose motives were to eliminate discrimination had discrimatory attitudes tword women.

    John F. Kennedy ordered a formal inquiry into the positon of the womens society. The commision of the status of women "reporeted that women did experience discrimination at work" Women were payed less than men and also promoted less often. This showed many people that women were indeed being discriminated against.

    National Organization for Women
    Feminists foarmed a group refered to as NOW. Women fought against gender discrimination, it also helped to cause spousal abuse to decline. These were achived by filing lawsuits, staging rallies, marching for civil rights, and non violent protests.
