They had very few rights. Women were called property of the man, and they had to do everything for his husband.
It was possible for men to divorce for a variety of reasons, however, women couldn´t. Until that year the women could divorce only for an abusive husband. -
Women´s suffrage movement
In this movement women worked for broad-based economic and political equality and for social reforms. -
The religion influence
The first institution that had opposite to women´s right was the church. By their religion (Cristianism), a lot of people had the same opinion about women´s suffrage movement and their demands. For this reason, a social problem started. -
Women´s right to vote
In Great Britain women were permitted to vote with the Reform Act in 1832. The movement to fight for women´s rights had succeeded. -
The actual women.
Nowadays the women have an important position in the society. She can work, study and vote. The rights between women and men are less, however, it continue exist for example in the salary. In the present the women is strong and have power of herself. She decides by her own, and choose the things that she wants to do. She fights against patriarchy and unfair actions that have happened in the past. The women says: "No one will never have the comfort of our silence again".
