Susan B. Anthony sought to secure political rights for women. While the fight for women’s rights stalled during the war, it sprung back to life as Anthony others formed the American Equal Rights Association. -
Progressive Era/Temperance Movement
The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) was found; an organization devoted to fight the evils of drunkenness. Alcohol was blamed for domestic violence; WCTU called alcohol a "homewrecker". -
National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA)
Organized in 1890 and was an Americans women's rights group. It became a large organization and became a nationally visible pro-suffrage group; fought for the 19th amendment. -

Flappers were know as pretty young women.Women where more concern with fashion and treads.Women would go drink,smoke,and go to night clubs. -

When most men left to fight in word war 2,there were jobs that need to be done,and women toke over to finish up all the work men left. -

Equal Pay Rights
The Equal Pay Act was signed in to law by President John F. Kennedy. The Act made it illegal to pay men and women working in the same place different salaries for similar work. -
Abortion Rights
in 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court rules in Roe v. Wade that women, as part of their constitutional right to privacy, can terminate a pregnancy during its first two trimesters. Only during the last trimester, when the fetus can survive outside the womb, would states be permitted to regulate abortion of a healthy pregnancy. -
