  • Brown v. Board of Education (1954)

    Landmark Decision from the Supreme Court
    This case was a change for separation between black students and white students. The thought that "Separate but Equal" was unconstitutional and a violation of the 14TH Amendment.

  • Diana v. state board of education 1970

    This issue was of Mexican American student overrepresentation in special classes for students with mild intellectual disabilities was addressed. This is because Diana came from a non-English speaking family and was her IQ test was in English.
    Since then IQ test that schoolchildren should be tested in their native language.
    This case laid the groundwork for future lawsuits based on cultural bias in educational evaluations.
    This also violated the Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
  • Mills v. dc board of education 1972

    Mills case was a class action lawsuit. This was a violation of the Protection of the 14th Amendment, 5th Amendment-Due Process, and the District of Columbia code of education, contained to provide education to all members of the district.
    Mills case was the influence and genesis to develop PL 94-142. It implemented Labeling, Placement, Exclusionary Stages of Education Making, Parent Rights to a Hearing, Appeal, and Access to Records.
