  • May 1692

    Governor William Phips established a special court to hear the witchcraft cases.

  • July 1692

    Rebecca Nurse, a respected member of the community, was hanged.

  • May 1693

    Governor Phips pardoned the remaining accused witches. With this, effectively ending the trials.
