Health and Registration
During this meeting, the Conservation Congress moved to improve deer registration and presented the findings of Deer
Research Project and The Deer Health survey, which focus on tagging deer, studying predation, and tracking outbreaks of CWD. -
Population Stabilization
In this meeting, the survival rates of Juvenile and Adult deer were the focus. Survival was found to be much more critical during the winter for Juvenile deer and the Committee decided that the goal of 2014 was to use a county based system to increase, stabilize, or decrease deer populations as need be. There was also a movement to import Elk from surrounding states to stabilize the elk population and eventually allow a hunting season. -
Population Boom
This meeting centered around reaffirming hunting laws, as well as updates about the elk re-introduction process. It was reported that approximately 45 elk calves were born this spring. It was annouced that negotiations with Kentucky may bring 150 elk
into Wisconsin over a three year period.

Anterless Tag debate
This meeting was focused on the decisions around Antlerless tags. Members questioned the public's willingness to buy tags to shoot does and moved to have the DNR make the tags zone specific. -
Setting Goals
This meeting was focused on setting goals for the deer and elk populations, as well as setting hunting quotas for the coming year.
