The organization plans on creating a designated date strictly for bow hunting so this issue does not happen again. Excited about the harvest and really happy with the new electronic system. New regulations will take effect this year as well.
  • The group continues to go over harvest control and managing deer population

Ideas were given to allow landowners to shoot deer on their property because of over population. Non-landowning deer hunters should be allowed to hunt on private property, with permission from the landowner. The goal is to maintain deer population and control the process of disposing of deer carcasses. Also, decisions were made that holiday hunting in December is not lowering the number of deer. It was said that there would be a break from hunting season in December.
  • The congress wraps up the 2016 season and discuss matters pertaining to members of the committee.

Electronic compliance is at 90%. New women hunters is up by 29% and hunter participation with guns is slowing decreasing. Hunters are now being selective on harvesting older class bucks, and studies are continuously being developed for deer surveys. Still have a long way to go but minor steps are being taken to ensure the management of deer and elk population in Wisconsin.
