Hatian Independance
The Hatian Independance marks the independance of Hati from France. Hati was the first Black Republic in the world, and the second nation in the western hemisphere to win it's independance from an European power. -
Congress of Vienna
The Congress of Vienna was an assembly that lasted from September 1814 to June 1815 that reorginized Europe after the Napoleonic Wars. It was made to balance out the powers of Europe and prevent future wars in Europe. -
The end of the franco prussian war
The end of the Franco-Prussian War was marked by the humiliating defeat of Napoleon's second empire of France. The Treaty of Frankfurt am Main was the treaty that ended the Franco-Prussian War. -
Conference of Berlin
The Conference of Berlin ocurred from November 15, 1884 through Febuary 26, 1885. It was proposed by Portugal to try and claim control of the Congo Estuary. This caused the European powers that had control of African countries to vote on whether or not to let Portugal take over the Congo. -
Boxer Rebellion
The Boxer Rebellion was an anti-imperialist, anti-foreign, and anti-Christian uprising in China between 1899 and 1901. The Boxer Rebellion was an attempt by the "Boxers" in trying to remove all of the foriegn/Christains from China. -
Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand
The Archduke Ferdinand was killed by a ninteen year old named, Gavrilo Princip, that set off the spark that started WWI. The group called the Black Hand set out to try and assassinate the Archduke. They had two attempts, the first was when he was driving to his meeting, one of the blackhand members tried to throw a grenade, but missed. Later that day, the driver of the car went down the wrong street which Gavrilo Princep happened to be on and he shot the Archduke and his wife. -
Siniking of the Lusitania
The Lusitania was a ship that was carrying American citizens, that was sank by a German U-boat. This action from Germany caused outrage in America, which caused a rise in the cause to join World War I. -
Russian Revolution
There were two Revolutions in Russia, the first was called the Febuary Revolution, that revolution caused an uprising that removed Tzar Nicholas II and set up a provisional government. However, the Provisional government didn't work, so there was another revolution. The second was called the Bolshevik Revolution, in which Vladimir Lenin set up a group of people called the Bolsheviks, which rose up and overthrew the Provisional government and installed Lenin as the leader. -
The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
The Treaty of Brest Litovsk was signed by Russia to surrender to Germany, after Russia's secound army was absolutely oblitirated by Germany in the biggest all out win ever. This was also caused by the change in leadership in Russia. -
Treaty of Versalles
The Treaty of Versalles was a treaty signed by Germany as a peace treaty to end WWI. This treaty caused Germany to pay the reporations and claim they caused WWI.
