Trojan War
The Trojan War makes Greek memorable because it brought numerous Greek Works, but most famously Homer's Iliad. The Trojan War is the event that involved a large horse filled with soldiers that was presented as a gift but then was used as weapon. This occurred in Troy by the Achaeans. The story itself is very famous, but the work the Iliad makes it even more famous. -

Language
Greek Literature was largely memorable due to one of the first alphabet systems. Without the Greek alphabet, we would not have famous works like Homer's poems or Pericles's speech. The use of language was just as great to document history as it is in today's world even though it looked much different. -

Start of the Olympian Games
The Olympics began a tradition that we still practice. We do things largely differently than we did then that of the Greek time, but we still do Olympic games based on the Olympians. The games played are still competitive, but instead of only being one winner there is a medal system. Modern Olympics are also more global, but they still bring the people together from far as Greeks did. This is memorable simply because it is still used today and still a tradition that we practice around the world. -

Money
The first Greek coins appeared. This is memorable because it brought about the use of money instead of trading. Previously, the people would trade one good for another, but now things could be bought in a similar sense to how we do. The Greek coin also had a value like our coins making civilizations more advanced as well. -

Athenian Democracy
Democracy is thought to have started in Athens. The first documented use of democracy was in Athens. This brought about the idea of having a government by the people that were for the people. It is a large part of what Greek is remembered for because it is still a system of government that is seen in the modern world, especially America. Democracy was one of the first types of government that allowed people to have such a large say, unlike common dictatorships and monarchies. -

Creation of Oligarchy
Oligarchy was made to replace tyrants and aristocracies. Oligarchy gave the right to anyone with enough money to run for political offices, wrote down laws for all public free people to know, and let poorer citizens than previously vote on laws passed by the council. This is memorable because it brought about what we have in the sense of who can hold office and who can vote. In today's world, it is common for everybody to be able to hold power, like this, but money still giving advantages. -

Pericles's Funeral Orientation
Pericles's Funeral Orientation was a large part of Greek History. It brought knowledge of the values of Pericles's people, but the biggest thing that he brought was to do things for your government. Pericles's speech revolved around the fallen soldiers sacrificing for their country instead of their country doing things for their people. This was at the time a successful democracy. Pericles's speech also brought many famous quotes to modern speeches. -

Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great became king after his father was assassinated. Alexander's father was King Phillip II. His death resulted in him being the ruler of Macedon at the young age of 20. Alexander was already famous for his resilience and strength in leading an army after his success as an 18 year old. His kingship only brought more. -

Alexander's Conquer of Persia
Previously, Peria had been one of the largest empires. However, Alexander the Great conquered it. With this he made many new towns and implied the values and technology of the Hellenistic period. Alexander's conquer was relatively smooth for how young he was, and was a shock to other areas of Greece. This is memorable because of how large Greece was. The closest to this happening was Persians conquering, but it was not done in such a swift manner. -

Peloponnessian War
The Peloponnesian War was between Athens and Spartans. The war was very brutal and it resulted in the turning of Sparta against Athens after working together against Persia. Spartans beat Athens and then sided with Persia resulting in changes in government. This was memorable because Spartans changed aliases and the way of the Greek people changed after Persia and Sparta worked together. Values and technology all began to change.
