Whale Evolution

  • Pakicetus

    Pakicetus
    Pakicetus was a carnivor and a mammal which lived where current day Pakistan is. Pakicetus was first found in 1981.
  • Ambulocetus

    Ambulocetus
    Ambulocetus was an amphibian which looked like a crocodile. This animal was found in Pakistan in 1993.
  • Dalanistes

    Dalanistes
    A more improved version of the Ambulocetus more fit for water instead o being able to live on land. Found on the border of Pakistan.
  • Rodhocetus

    Rodhocetus
    Rohdocetus was discovered in Pakistan 1994. Its body was improved compared to the earlier version of the Dalanistes. It had shorter limbs and the body was more lengthy including the jaw bone.
  • Takracetus

    Takracetus
    Takracetus was also found in Pakistan 1995. This whale wasn't much changed from the Rodhocetus. It had an improved tail and shorter limbs compared to the Rodhocetus.
  • Gaviocetus

    Gaviacetus was found in 1995 eastern Pakistan. This whale had a longer tale and shorter front limbs than the Takracetus.
  • Durodon

    Durodon
    Durodon was discoverd in Pakistan 1989. This creature was all that was left with Basilosaurus who preyed on Basilosaurus. Durodon had a studdy body and was very quick and was the whale that lived out of the two.
  • Basilosaurus

    Basilosaurus
    Basilosaurus lived with Durodon and preyed on the smaller whale Basilosaurus was the largest whale known to live. It had a long body which was good for shallow not deep water. The whale died off after the water go to deep for it too dive. It was found in Pakistan 1989.
  • Odontocetus

    Odontocetus
    Odontocetus which means "toothed whale" is the current day whale. This whale has many diffrent species. Many kinds live all over the ocean in diffrent shapes sizes and looks.
