The homestead act tells about how settlers got 160 acres of land but, if you did that u would have to pay a small fee. Also 7millon Americans traveled west for more land. -

The civil war was from 1861 to 1865. The Union faces secessionist in eleven southern states. The last battle was Palmito Ranch. -
Buffalo Soldiers Forms
The buffalo soldiers were formed September 21,1866 at fort Leavenworth. The name was from Negro Cavalry.by the native Americans. -
Transcontinenal Railroad completed
This railroad took six years to build! mostly by hand. Also this was joined together Promontory Summit, Utah. This was a big help because it helped people get to places much faster and lots of people rode. -
Cheif Joseph surrenders to U.S army
Chief Joseph surrenderd to General Nelson A. Miles.Also they were at Bear Paw mountians and says he's sick and tired of fighting.
