On April 30, 1803 president Thomas Jefferson gave the French $15 million for the Louisiana territory. Being only 4 cents anacre this increased the size of theUnited States drastically. -
Lewis a Clark Expedition
Lewis and Clark started their journey discovering the Louisiana territory in 1803. In 1804 they met up with a couple Indians to help them on their way. On September 23, 1806 the travelers finally make it back home now known as heroes. -
Indian Removal Act
On March 28, 1830 the congress decided that if they relocated the Indians they would be ableto use the land more efficiantly. The congress had a long debate but in the end the idea of having over 25 million more acres to use was to good to pass up.
