  • 3000 BCE

    The Bronze Age

    The Bronze Age
    The Bronze Age was a period where long-distance trade networks and diplomatic exchanges evolved into empires of mass influence. This period lasted from about 3000BCE to 1100BCE and brought about new ideas and theories. Of course, this period is where Bronze was increasingly popular in creating tools and weapons and it was even used to a certain extent to agriculture.
  • 1400 BCE

    Minoans

    Minoans
    The Minoans were sea fearers and traders. By trading both ideas and goods there civilization lasted a long time. They even invented their own systems of bureaucracy and writing. It is known as Linear A and has never been decoded. However, everything doesn't last forever and by about 1400 BCE a wave of invasions lead by the Mycenaeans started to extinguish their era of peace. From that period the Minoans lost their political independence.

    1100 BCE A New Age Iron Age

    1100 BCE A New Age Iron Age
    Of course, this age began as the bronze age ended. With this age, Iron became increasingly popular. However, the Egyptian Kingdoms didn't use large amounts of it until the 7th century BCE. While this ended the outside of Greece suffered a long dark age and numerous amounts of new societies emerged who re-established trade routes and was known to initiate a phase of politics to which led to the largest government the world had seen.

    The Greek Dark Age

    The Greek Dark Age
    The Greek Dark Age was caused by the collapse of the Bronze Age. It affected their economy and Cultures. One Reason was Foreign trade declined rapidly. And thus they lost out on money they could have been making. Agriculture was also hit because trade with neighboring areas completely vanished. Even some of the local subsistence economies cut them off from their important sources such as nutrients and materials for daily life. Also, ideas and influences were harder to exchange.

    The Olympics!

    The Olympic's weren't just a fun event it was also an honor. This was named after Olympia and it was located in southern Greece where it was held for four years however we known they were so big it is even held today. It was so big that Greeks from other settlements came to witness them traveling as far away as Sicily and the Black Sea and even wars were Stopped to dedicated themselves to Zeus the big Greek god.

    This is Sparta!!!
    DUring 600 BCE - 450 BCE, the Spartans were considered one of the super-elites in military might. They conquered a large territory in Greece and the southern Peloponnesus. Sparta was an Aristorcartic monarchy with 2 kings. With a house of 30 people who approved or rejected the laws. They were said to be one of the most competitive empires even dating was a battle. This was because it was a slave society.

    Phoenicians Travel the Globe

    Phoenicians Travel the Globe
    With the new Iron Age, it brought new societies and people. One of these groups was the Phoenicians who like the Minoans traveled the globe trading and exploring. They were even known to travel the globe farther then anyone has ever done! They were so brilliant not only at trade they created their own system of writing which was much simpler and easier to use.

    Peloposian war

    Peloposian war
    The Peloponnesian war was when the Spartans and the Athenians led the Greeks against Persia in war and won. It was a shock because Persia was a superpower back in its day. During this period Greeks produced most of their iconic influences and achievements. Every year they built a navy and eventually the last of the Persians were driven from the Greek Islands in 469 BCE. However, Athens didn't want anyone to leave. And some revolted. This new league was called the Peloponnesian League.

    Alexander the Great

    Alexander the Great
    In 333 BCE ALexander was young and couragous warrior leading his troops on a rampage throughout Greece. He embarked on a quest to attack Persia with an army of about 45,000 men. against 200,000 and yet he came on top. Alexander the Great was a fair leader and he understood that some men may have to see their families.

    Alexander continued
    Nothing got in his way even people tried to bribe him not to take their kingdom but it didn't work on him. He sucessfully brought down the persians and their territory. But Persia wasnt enough he went on to Conquer More kingdoms till his death eventually the great leader died of old age.
