    Much like Sargon the Great, the reason that the Third Dynasty of Ur is very important is that they were also able to conquer and unite all of the city-states in Mesopotamia. They were the most effective to-date in governing all of the different city-states, because of a system of bureaucracy that they used.

    In around 1900 BC, the Hebrews were led out of Mesopotamia by Abraham, who was considered the first patriarch of the Hebrews. The religion Judaism was created by the Hebrews, and their story is central to the creation of Judaism, and also core for Christianity and Islam. Religion has played a large role in history, and this event is the foundation of all of it.

    The Code of Hammurabi is a very important event that happened. The Code consisted of 282 laws and was the document that described the expectations, obligations, and rights of the citizens of Mesopotamia. The Code kept the citizens united and peaceful because of the "eye for an eye" principle.
