The Old Kingdom was established when the third royal dynasty began ruling over all of Egypt. The kingdom itself representing a long line of kings who controlled the first Egyptian culture. -

King Djoser
King Djoser was a king in the Old Kingdom Egypt. He was the first king to order a tomb to be made for him. This tomb was the first pyramid built in honor of his death. -

Hammurabi's Law code
Babylonian king, Hammurabi, set legal distinctions for men and women. These laws included protections for women, but also had rules of punishing crimes. "An eye for an eye" is one well-known code of Hammurabi's. -
