She refused to give up her seat to a white male on the bus so she was later arrested for not doing so. -
Montgomery Improvement Association was founded
They were the organization that organized the Montgomery bus boycott. They were founded by black ministers and community leaders, including Martin Luther King, Jr., E. D. Nixon, and Ralph Abernathy. -

Montgomery Improvement Association held a mass meeting that evening at Holt Street Baptist Church where the MIA voted to continue the boycott. -

During the Montgomery bus boycott his home was bombed while his wife Coretta was home. Luckily no one was injured. -
E. D. Nixon's Yard Bombed
A bomb explodes in the yard of Nixon, the MIA treasurer. -
Bus Segregation was decided unconstitutional
A federal district court ruled in Browder v. Gayle that bus segregation was unconstitutional. -
