The Voyage of the Beagle
He sailed the seas on a five year long mission. Sailing South near west Africa being the first of many stops. He collected samples of flora, fauna, fossils and observed different rock formations at every new place they visited. This increased his presence in geological studies in science at the time. Evolution by natural selection
His interest only just started beginning at the Galapagos Islands. His observations of the new breeds of finches sparked his interest In natural selection. He investigated Francis Bacons work to further his own research. This was when his book was created, " On the Origin of Species."
