It was in present-day Indiana. Some considered it the first battle of the War of 1812 altogether. Was fought by Tecumseh's brother and William Henry Harrison. The Battle of Plattsburg on Lake Champlain/ The Battle of Baltimore/ The Creation of our National Anthem
It was a huge American victory and it secured the northern border. The battle at Fort McHenry was going on at this time. After the United States won at Fort McHenry the Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key. This is all significant because we wouldn't have won the war without these things.
