    When he was reelected there was peace but trouble was brewing. The trouble was threatening American trade but since we had nuetral rights we could still trade with the British and French.

    The embargo act prohibits trade with another country. The act targeted Great Britian but banned imports and exports with all foreign countries. This act failed, it hurt the economy by making people lose their jobs and money.

    The election was between Republican James Madison and Federalist Charles Pickney. Madison won.

    Battle of Tippecanoe
    Harrison attacked Prophetstown while Tecumseh was away trying to expand the confederacy. The Americans won the battle but in a way they lost because the Native Americans are joining forces with the British.

    The U.S is battling the British. Perry successfully beats the British.

    Britsh burn Washington D.C.
    Britsh sailed into Chesapeake Bay and launched an attack on Wahington D.C. British troops quickly overpowered American militia.

    The British retreated into Canada. The Battle of Lake Champlain convinced the British that it wasn't worth it to fight the U.S.

    Treaty of Ghent
    The treaty was between America and Great Britian. This treaty did not change any existing borders. There was no mention of impressment of sailors or neutral rights.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    Battle of New Orleans
    This was the last battle before the word of the treaty spread. The U.S achieved a decisive victory this led to Andrew Jackson who was leading the U.S troops to win the election of 1828.
