Thomas Jefferson is reelected
Thomas Jefferson was reelected in 1804 after finishing his first term tht started in 1801. His home was located at Monticello in Charlottesille, Virginia. When Jefferson was elected he wore regular everyday clothes. -
Embargo Act
The Embargo act was passed in December 1807. It prohibited trade with other countires. The act was targeting Great Britain, but the act banned trade for ALL countires. In the end it was pretty much a disaster. -
James Madison
James Madison from Virginia was chosen to be the candidate. He took office as president under favorable conditions. He had to deal with lots of fights and trading problems. -
Battle of Tippencanoe
The Americans won this one. Tecumseh joined forces with the British who, settlers believed were then supplying their confederacy with guns. Which was pretty bad. -
War of 1812
From Detroit to Canada, General William Hull led the American Army, only to meet Tecumseh and his warriors. The General got scared and ditched the whole thing , because they were scared they were going to get their butts kicked by the Native Americans. He surrendered Detriot to the British. -
Battle of Thames
Tecumseh lost his life in the Battle of Thames. Oliver Hazard Perry the commander of the Lake Erie naval forces, wanted to steal the lake from the British. They battled on September 10, a bloody battle to follow. -
Battle of Lake Erie
Perry destroyed the Birtish naval force, Lake Erie was now in American hands. The natives tried to back out causing a fight and therefore Tecumseh was killed. -
Battle at Lake Champlain
British General Sir George had a goal to capture Plattsburg. He sent 10,000 soldiers to try to capture the shore. But, an American ship beat them. And then the Bristish retreated. -
British burn Washington
American forces attacked York burning the parliament. Altough America won several arguements Canada was still under British rule. -
Treaty of Ghent
The war was finally ended! The British and Americans were at peace. They signed a treaty for peace so the war would ot continue. -
Battle at New Orleans
British advanced on New Orleans and the teams were kinda uneven if you want to put it that way. British soldiers died out kind of quick. American's did a very good job.
