This treaty ended the war of 1812. This treaty was between the United States and Great Britain. This treaty opened up the Great Lake region for American expansion. -
Battle at New Orleans
Even though the Treaty of Ghent was signed back in 1815 word did not travel fast. So British troops mached in to New Orleans thinking the war was still going on, but Andrew Jackson and his soldiers were ready and won the battle. After that Americans were free of battles over the War of 1812.
